Responsibilities

Start, guide, or operate Numerical Control systems to cut, bend, shape, sew, pierce, carve, drill, or thread metal and non-metal products:

Operate CNC lathe and milling machines

Monitor the operation of machines or conduct observations to detect defects in parts or malfunctions in the machines

Position, adjust, and secure the product on a shaft, clamping or fastening device, or automatic loading machine manually or using lifting mechanisms, and ensure no interruptions in the process

Read technical drawings of the job to determine machine adjustments and material requirements

Inspect parts to detect defects and conduct evaluations to determine the operational precision of machines using calipers, tape measures, micrometers, snap gauges, plug gauges, templates, and mechanical or automatic measuring tools

Replace worn-out parts such as cutters, cutting mechanisms, blades, wrenches, and brushes using hand tools and calibrate the machine
